Beddy visits the Conisborough Castle – Doncaster

Monday, August 5th, 2013

I visited the Conisborough Castle yesterday, and it was brilliant!!!

We learnt that it was built in 1070 which was shortly after the huge battle of Hastings where two armies were fighting for the country of England.

Sadly the castle has fallen down now and there is only one tall building which is called a keep which the goodies would use to kill the baddies.

I would highly recommend a visit!

LinQy visits John Smith Stadium – Huddersfield

Friday, July 19th, 2013

Yesterday my cousin LinQy and I visited the John Smith stadium, which is the home ground to football team Huddersfield Town.

It is also the home of Huddersfield Giants Rugby Union team!

We learned that it has 24,500 seats for the home and away supporters to sit in.

That’s a lot of people!!

We also learnt that the ground was opened 19years ago! Which is a lot older than you and me?

Beddy visits The National Railway Museum

Thursday, March 14th, 2013

I visited the National railway Museum the other day; you can discover 300 years of history and 1,000,000 objects that changed the world. It was so much fun learning about the railway. Do you like the railway?  You can even play with the trains; they come in all shapes and sizes. Some are really small whereas others are huge and you can even sit in them! You should definitely go if you have the chance!

Beddy and LinQy visit Durham Catherdral!

Friday, February 22nd, 2013

Yesterday me and my cousin LinQy visited Durham cathedral. It is one of the biggest buildings I have ever seen.

Every year it has 600,000 visitors coming to see all of its history.

The cathedral took 40 years to build and has three massive towers.

It is open every single day and it’s free so go and see this impressive building!

LinQy visits York Minster…

Monday, January 28th, 2013

york minster

Yesterday, I went to York and saw the cathedral.

It was very impressive, and somebody told me that people began building it in 1230, that is over 700 years ago!

I thought it was amazing that something so large and detailed could have been made without machinery and electricity. You should be sure to go if you visit York because this is definitely an experience I will not forget!

Beddy visits…Wookey Hole

Wednesday, November 21st, 2012

Today I visited Wookey Hole Caves, these are named after the village, Wookey Hole, which is in Somerset, England.

They are amazing! They were made by a river, which ran through the stone and created some really great caves.

There is also a rock that looks like a person, called the Witch of Wookey hole. There is a legend that this was a real witch that a monk turned to stone.

If you don’t believe me, go and see for yourself!

Beddy & Linqy visit…Snowdonia

Thursday, October 18th, 2012

Today I went to Snowdonia, in North Wales. This area is named after Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. There are a lot of mountains, hills and rivers, and the countryside is very beautiful. My favourite part was that there were lots of wild animals, like Otters, and big birds like Ravens!

LinQy visits Uffington!

Thursday, October 4th, 2012

Today I went to Uffington and I got a big surprise! On the hill, I could see a huge white horse, drawn into the grass! This was over 100 metres long, and it was amazing! Somebody told me that it is over 3000 years old! Who could have made this so long ago?

Beddy visits…the White Cliffs of Dover!

Monday, September 24th, 2012

At the bottom of England, next to the sea, there are some big cliffs. The cliffs at Dover are different to everywhere else, because they are completely white! They are called the White Cliffs of Dover, and they are very famous! Before aeroplanes had been invented, people left England on boats. The White Cliffs of Dover were the last piece of England that people saw, and the first bit they could see when they got back. I didn’t know that on a clear day, you can see them all the way from France!

Beddy Visits… Drighlington Primary School

Monday, April 30th, 2012

This week my cousin LinQy has been out on a school visit to Drighlington Primary School. He told me the boys and girls were so well behaved and listened to everything they were told.

Whilst he was there LinQy educated the children about the importance of road safety, especially around big trucks like us, the children were great at answering questions about road safety.

All of the children had an insight into the world from a driver’s birds eye view, they got to sit in the cab and some even got to blast LinQy’s horn!

LinQy had such a great time with the children and is excited for his next school visit.
