Beddy visits… York

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Out on my deliveries for The Daily Mail I went to York this week. It isn’t far away from my home near Leeds and the city is really pretty.

It was built by the Romans who came all the way from Italy over 2000 years ago to live in Britain, so it’s a very old town. It was very busy when I was there with lots of tourists coming to see the many attractions.

In the town centre is a big cathedral called York Minster, it is the second biggest cathedral in this style in Europe and is the biggest attraction in the city, with lots of people visiting every day.

You should go to York if you have chance, and look out for me making deliveries!

Beddy visits… Cadbury World

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

This week while I was out delivering I went to Birmingham and I found something really exciting. Cadbury World!

If you’re anything like me and my family we love chocolate.

Cadbury World is a really big chocolate factory owned by Cadburys, a famous chocolate company that is nearly 200 hundred years old.

Me and my cousin Lily learnt all about how chocolate is made and where it comes from, as well as how Mr. Cadbury started his business all those years ago.

Beddy visits… Nottingham

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Can you guess who came from near Nottingham?? Go on have a guess…it’s Robin Hood!

Everyone knows the story of Robin Hood and I’m sure you’ve seen him in some films.

He used to take money from the rich people of the city so that he could help the poorer people. Lots of people loved him and now he has his own legend.

When I visited Nottingham this week with my sister Emily we went to see Sherwood Forest where Robin used to live.

Emily was really excited but we didn’t see him. Maybe next time.

Beddy visits…Liverpool

Monday, September 13th, 2010

While I was out delivering newspapers for the Daily Mail this week I visited Liverpool.

It is a big city on the west coast of England and is the third largest city in the whole country!

Liverpool is famous for its Premier League football team and players like Steven Gerrard and Kevin Keegan. Liverpool FC play at Anfield, a big stadium which holds more than 45,000 fans.

Liverpool is also famous for The Beatles, a very successful band in the 1960s. Ask your Mum and Dad if you can listen to some of The Beatles’  music, I’m certainly a big fan!
