Beddy visits…Blackpool Tower

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

Lily and I went to visit Blackpool Tower on our deliveries for Decorative Panels this week.

Blackpool Tower opened in 1894 and was built to look like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, but it isn’t quite as tall.

Blackpool Tower is 158 metres tall and has been open for nearly 120 years. I bet hundreds and hundreds of people have been up and down the tower in that time!

The Tower can be seen from over 30 miles away, maybe I’ll see it next time I’m on the roads.

Beddy visits…the Yorkshire Dales

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

Today after we had finished our deliveries for The Daily Mail, we took a trip up into the Yorkshire Dales.

It is very different from the busy roads and cities we normally go to. There were fields as far as you could see, and hardly any cars.

I tell you what though; I did see a lot of sheep! It seems an easy life to be a sheep.

We were also lucky with the weather and so we could see the amazing views, it was great to see some sunshine and blue sky.

Beddy visits…Big Ben

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

Last night while travelling though Westminster in London I saw the most spectacular clock, and it was Big Ben.

Big Ben is the largest four-faced chiming clock and the third-tallest free-standing clock tower in the world.

Big Ben is the nickname for the bell of the clock and is located at the end of the Palace of Westminster.

Also Big Ben is over 150 years old! At 96 metres tall, Emily and I felt very small next to it.

Beddy visits…The London Eye

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

This week I was delivering The Daily Mail newspapers to London, the capital of England.

I passed the huge London Eye. The London Eye is one of London’s most modern famous landmarks. It is the world’s biggest ferris wheel, and will carry 800 passengers at a time on a thirty minute ride. From its highest point of 136 metres,  you can see for 25 miles!

I could only just see all the people on the London Eye waving, they looked so small from down on the ground.

Beddy visits…Leeds United

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

Today Emily and I carried out some local deliveries for The Daily Mail in our hometown of Leeds.

We love being back at home and being able to  watch the local football team.

We went to the Elland Road stadium, home of Leeds United. Leeds United were playing against Bristol City, and we won! It was a very exciting match and all the fans, including myself and Emily, were singing songs to encourage our team.
